We are a small group of people working in a small scale. Most of the work we have done is in one twelfth scale i.e. 1 inch to 1 foot.

Over the years we have tackled many things including an easel, room in a shoe box, market stall which turned into a village scene, dolls which were then placed in a corner scene. Recently we have been doing ‘our own thing’ finishing some of the projects that we have had at home.  This last month we made a tray and a pair of Hare book ends. Next month we are making some suitcases (picture of kit below) then hoping to go on to do garden scenes.

We sometimes use kits and at other times the items are from scratch. We try to recycle things e.g. wooden stirrers that you get at the coffee shop can be turned into flooring or fencing whilst the small plastic jam pots can be turned into sinks. It makes you look at things in a totally different way. We use only simple tools.

People say to us "Oh, that is so clever!" and that they wouldn’t be able to do it, so untrue that is. The greatest talent you need is one of patience. If you want to have a go, do come and join us.

If you are a member of our u3a and would like to join this group or would like further details, please contact the group's Leader (see the group information above). For non-members please contact the Groups Co-ordinator.
