We are a small U3A group of eleven members, who meet fortnightly in each other’s homes. Over the years we have followed BBC beginner’s textbooks Talk Italian 1, Talk Italian 2 and Italianissimo 1. We have recently begun the Italianissimo 2 intermediate course but do frequently need to revise basic vocabulary and grammar too.

In addition, most of us use the Duolingo App on a daily basis. Topics covered recently include buying clothes, ordering food and drinks and talking about accidents/illnesses. We also read newspaper articles every now and again, listen to Italian music and watch the videos linked to the units in Italianissimo. We enjoyed an Italian meal at Giuliano’s in February 2024.

We would very much like a native Italian speaker to join us. If you are a fluent Italian speaker or know of someone who is and who would be available to help us out, please let us know. It is always interesting to hear members tell us about their holidays in Italy. At least two of us plan to visit this year.
