As we know, the U3A is a source of inspiration for members of all abilities and interests. Craft, photography, cribbage, history, all of these use different skills, either mentally or creatively. Both of these skills are put to test with interesting outcomes by members of the writing group. Writers are given a different title each month chosen from a list submitted by one of the members and get their creative juices going by writing a story - either fact or fiction - inspired by this title. It’s amazing how many different slants there can be from one title.
You don’t have to be a budding Ernest Hemingway or Danielle Steele to enjoy becoming a member of the group. We all enjoy listening to each other’s take on the subject matter and this often then leads to a lively discussion about the subject over coffee and cake. What we don’t do is critique the contributions, instead appreciating everyone’s differing styles.
New members are always welcome.
If you are a member of our u3a and would like to join this group or would like further details, please contact the group's leader (see the group information above). For non-members please contact the Groups Co-ordinator.
