On Wednesday 4th December 2024 a group of near thirty members, many adorned in seasonal apparel, met at The Chequers in Weston for the annual Dining and Luncheon Groups' Christmas lunch.
After everybody had acquired an aperitif we sat for an excellent meal which personally was made special by a starter of bubble and squeak served with a small jar of Tiptrees Brown Sauce. This dish was always offered as a breakfast treat in my family home.
Most people have expressed that they had had a lovely time with exceptional social discourse. Special thanks to Sheila who had arranged the event, to Dawn for sorting the finance and to the staff at The Chequers for their enjoyable service.
A wonderful year of meals from both groups and special thanks to members who have arranged them and we are all, I hope, looking forward to again meeting in 2025.
