Our July monthly meeting – something a bit different.

The July meeting was devoted to our groups. Some 15 groups showed us a little of what they get up to in their spare time. Our ukulele group entertained us first followed by short but very interesting talks by the History and the Exploring Churches groups. The Seated Exercise group showed us what was possible whilst following moves to music whilst sitting down – more strenuous than one might imagine although we only had a short taster.

Members then had a chance to look at the various displays, fathom out how to play mah jong, enter the prize draw for a bottle of Portuguese wine from the Wine and Cheese Appreciation group and sample goodies from the two French groups. Hopefully this event will have inspired some members to join something different from the 40 or so groups we offer. Visitors are welcome at our next meeting when we will be having a talk from the police on fraud.
