Description of the hazard: Member becoming ill and needing medical treatment.

Groups exposed to risk: Any group. Member collapsed at evening dining Christmas event and ambulance called. Member collapsed at garden group and ambulance called.

Likelihood of risk happening: (1-3) 2

Severity if the risk occurs: (1-3) 2 



Overall score: 4 moderate



What controls are in place: Members are given ICE cards. Members will often carry a mobile phone to call for assistance. Members will generally cancel their attendance if they feel unwell.

Is any action required to further minimise risk: If a member is unwell, arrangements should be made to either get them to hospital or home if someone is able to look after them. Family members can be contacted using ICE card.

Has the action been reviewed and completed: ICE cards available to members at monthly meetings.
