Cuisine, and Companionship: The Monthly Gatherings of Spalding and District u3a Dining Group
In a world that often emphasizes the vitality of youth, there exists a treasure trove of wisdom and warmth among the elder generation. In the heart of our community, a group of u3a members defies societal stereotypes by gathering monthly for a dinner that transcends mere sustenance. These gatherings are more than just meals; they are moments of connection, laughter, and shared experiences. Welcome to the Spalding and District u3a Dining Group where age is just a number and friendship knows no bounds.
The group sprang from an abundance of members wishing to join the Evening Dining group which had run very successfully for a number of years and which still continues until today.
The Dining Group runs on similar lines to the other group in that members take it in turns to organise the monthly get together held on the first Wednesday of each month. The venue is selected by the organiser and any type of food can be selected.
One of the very pleasant aspects of the Dining Group is conversation between members who sometimes only meet this once a month. In conclusion, this is a chance for members to get together to enjoy a companiable meal and social get together.
